An Introduction to the Life of Aubryelle Sebo

Introducing Aubryelle Sebo

Hi! My name is Aubryelle Sebo and I am from Spiro, OK, which is a tiny town about three hours east of Norman, famous for the Spiro Mounds.I am a junior, Biology (Pre-PA) major. One day, I hope to open a free medical clinic in my hometown. To open a clinic and serve my community has always been a dream of mine. Last semester was by far the best semester I have had at OU. My favorite class I took/have ever taken at OU was last semester, and it just so happened to be organic chemistry. This was very unexpected for me. I always knew I liked chemistry, but had always heard scary things about OChem, however, the class ended up being awesome and I did very well. Over break, I had the opportunity to job shadow a PA, which made for a very exciting week of my break. Other than job shadowing, I most hung out with my family and binged watched Netflix.

The most important thing to me is my family. I have two siblings, a brother and a sister. My brother, Bryten, is 15 and is a freshman in high school, and loves to play football. My sister, Madelyn, is 19 and is a freshman at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK. I also have an English Bulldog named Lucy, who is my favorite person on this earth (yes, I treat my dog like a person). Besides Lucy, at home I have six other dogs (that's a lot, I know). Needless to say, my family loves animals and they play a huge role in our lives. I grew up on a family farm that has been in the family for five generations! Growing up on a farm has taught me so many valuable lessons that I will use throughout my life.

Another thing about me is, I love to watch Netflix. My current obsession on Netflix is Dexter. It is a weird show and a little unconventional, but it is very good. I also love movies. I do not have a favorite genre and typically watch just about any type. My all time favorite movies are  White Chicks and The Other Woman.

  1. Hi Aubryelle! That’s great that you thought organic chemistry was enjoyable! I got through the class but it definitely wasn’t my favorite. I like your future goal; you sound super passionate! Lucy is toooo adorable! I stared at her picture for a good 10 minutes and proceeded to show my friends! I would love to have a ton of dogs at home but I only have 1.

  2. Nice to meet you, Aubryelle! That is awesome that you loved organic chemistry so much. I have heard that is an extremely challenging course, so props to you! Also your dog Lucy is just precious. I think my dog is my favorite person as well. I am so jealous that you have a house full of doggies, my parents will only let me have 1 unfortunately!

  3. It is fun getting to meet people a second time around, Aubryelle: last semester was the semester of Spiro, Oklahoma... but I had forgotten you were one of the people from Spiro! And maybe this class can connect up with your medical career plans: there are some great Indian legends about healers and healing, and a long tradition of medicine called Ayurveda. One of the most dramatic incidents in the Ramayana involves the monkey-god Hanuman bringing back a whole mountain of herbs so the doctors can use that to heal fallen warriors; you'll be reading that story soon! Meanwhile, here is a picture of Hanuman carrying that mountain covered with herbs: Hanuman bringing the mountain. It is one of the most popular stories about him: Hanuman and the Sanjeevani.

  4. Hello! I love your name, I've never heard anyone named Aubryelle! I'm amazed that you loved OChem, because I tried Gen Chem my freshmen year and I quickly dropped the class and changed my major. It was a very difficult class for me, but I am happy to hear that you are enjoying chemistry. My dad graduated with a degree in chemistry because he also loved it so much! Your dog is precious and I am honestly jealous that you have so many dogs!

  5. Hi Aubryelle! I gotta hop on the bandwagon and say that it's incredible how you enjoyed OChem, haha. I've had friends that swore up and down that it was the worst class ever, so it's a good thing you enjoyed it. Anyways I think your dream is really noble, and I wish you the best of luck in establishing your own clinic!

I love your dream to open a free medical clinic in Spiro. That's so noble and I'm rooting for you to succeed in that! I can tell you're definitely passionate about it and I feel like that will definitely propel you into success.
I watched Dexter too and it's such an interesting show! A lot of people think it's weird when I talk about it, but I'm hooked!

  7. Hey Aubryelle!
I like that you are from a small town like me! I really respect that you want to open a clinic in your hometown. This is something that is needed in a lot of small towns, and I think that it is noble you want to do that. I also liked organic chem! I did not expect to find the class enjoyable, but I really enjoyed my professor and his teaching style. I am looking forward to what you will create for this class!

  8. Hey Aubryelle, it is nice to meet you! I love your name and how you spell it; I have never heard anyone named Aubryelle! I am a big fan of your dream to set up a free medical clinic in your hometown. Your hometown will be forever grateful for you. :) I never had a dog or a pet in general so it is neat to meet someone who has six dogs!! I am a big fan as well of White Chicks and The Other Woman. Those two movies are romantic comedies that can put anyone in a good mood!

  10. Hi Aubryelle! Wow I am so impressed by your love for science and to really dig into your passions during your college career. Your pup is the cutest! Thank you for sharing that sweet photo with us. Speaking of the free medical clinic, I have a friend trying to start one in Norman this year or next! She is a pre-med student seeking to make a difference during college, like you are!

  11. Hi Aubryelle! That's so cool that you grow up on a farm. It sounds so much fun getting to be around all those animals. You definitely beat my record for owning dogs. My family owned 5 at one point. Right now we currently have only 3 and a parakeet. It's nowhere close to a farm but it's never a boring moment with them. I like how you treat your dog like a person, I do the same with mine. It's just too bad the rest of the world doesn't always understand that dogs are people too! That is really nice that you want to open up your own clinic to give back to the community. I really do hope you achieve your goal!

  12. Hi Aubryelle!

I also grew up on the farm, my dad really like farming so does my grandfather. I never got to work because I moved so far away from there and we still own but my grandfather stay there and take care of farm. Once when I go see them, then my grandfather takes me to look what he does and it was really interesting to learn what they do in order to be a successful farmer.

  13. Hi Aubryelle!

What a fantastic dream to have! The health care situation in America today will definitely benefit from people like you taking a stand for their dreams. Also, Dexter is fantastic. It tapers off a bit near the end of the show, but it's one of my favorites. If you really enjoy it, (and don't mind the blood), there's a Hannibal television series starring Mads Mikkelsen as a young Hannibal, paired with a mentally unstable Will Graham FBI agent. It focuses on the events prior to the movies, and there's a lot of criminal/psychological drama. But, fair warning, it can be spooky!

First off, I really like the design and layout of your blog! Also, I thought the personal photos you added into your introduction were a nice touch! I think it’s so cool that you want to open a free medical clinic and I hope one day that can become a reality. I hope you are having a good semester so far and I can’t wait to see what you post next to your blog!

  15. Hey Aubreyelle! I had no idea the Spiro mounds even existed and they were super neat to read about. It is always great to learn new things, especially about ones so close to here. English bulldogs are some of the best looking dogs to me and Lucy is no exception. I have been considering adopting one after I graduate in May. Best of luck with your degree!

  16. Hi Aubreyelle, that's so cool that you ended up liking organic chemistry! I'm not a science major, but a lot of my friends are and have said that it's a really tough class, so that's nice that you enjoyed it. I love your dog too! I don't personally have a dog, but I'm definitely a dog person. I've never seen Dexter, might need to be the next show I watch on Netflix! Best of luck with the rest of college!

  17. Hi Aubryelle, my name is Naomee!

I am on the Pre-Medicine track so I feel like we have a lot in common. I also loved organic chemistry, which my peers thought was really weird and cool at the same time! That's awesome that you are so close to your family. I think parents are the greatest gifts to ask for! It is nice to meet you and I hope you have a great rest of the semester.

  18. Hello Aubreyelle! It is so cool that you have such compassionate goals for the future. I personally cannot wait to leave Oklahoma, so you wanting to stay and give back is something I really admire. I also am a huge animal lover and Lucy is adorable! I am Pre-nursing, and have not taken any chemistry classes yet, but they are coming up soon and I am nervous, but I hope that I enjoy it as much as you!

  19. Hey Aubryelle! It nice to finally meet you! There are so many people enrolled in this course. Your dog is adorable!! I have always wanted a dog, but I have never had the time. I also have many friends that are biology majors. What made you want to learn about Indian Epics? It is also cool that you enjoyed Organic Chemistry. I have heard from my friends that class is very challenging.

  24. Hi Aubyelle! I am also pre-PA, so it's nice to find such an easy connection. I have to agree that shadowing PAs can be a great addition to any break from school! I usually shadow PAs during breaks, and it is a great boost of motivation when I return from school because it puts all of the hard work into perspective. I can't wait to read more of your posts!

  28. I love White Chicks so much. Hilarious movie. I've never seen the Other Woman, but if it's anything like White Chicks, I'll enjoy it. Always looking for a good lighthearted, comedic thing to watch (although recently I've been on a Forensic Files stint on Netflix.)

Your pup is so cute!! I love bulldogs.

  29. Hey Aubryelle, I remember your introduction from last semester in the Mythology and Folklore class. I learned about the Spiro Mounds from you last semester. It is nice to come across a familiar blog. I am not sure about you, but I really liked that we got to read an entire book in this course compared to all of the short readings in the other course. Good luck in your classes this semester, we are almost done!!

  30. Hey Aubrelle,

That’s a really cool career path that you are wanting to work towards! My girlfriend volunteers at a free clinic up in OKC and she really likes it! She took O-Chem as well recently, but I don’t think she shared your enthusiasm towards it, haha. That is indeed a lot of dogs you have at home! I have a single miniature pinscher back home and he alone is almost too much for me to handle. Anyway, have a great rest of the semester!
