Maui, Hawaii. In the winter of 2012, my family and I took a vacation to Maui. Ever since that trip, Maui has been one of my favorite places. From the vast mountains with tight winding roads, to the beautiful sandy beaches, a diverse community of sea creatures, and even an old volcano, Maui does not disappoint. If you have never been, you should definitely add it to your bucket list of vacation destinations.
While visiting Maui, we visited many of the beautiful beaches that Maui has to offer but without a doubt, my favorite beach was the red sand beach. It was absolutely stunning. Pictures offer no justice to this magnificent spot, with clear, kool-aid blue water contrasting against the deep red sand. The true beauty of this place cannot be captured by words or pictures. The red sand beach was a spot that I can truly say left me speechless. Another perk of this beach was that it was pretty secluded, due to having to hike down to get to it, which meant that it had an abundance of sea-glass.

The journey to the red sand beach offered to be worrisome. To reach the red sand beach, we first had to climb the mountains on a road called Hana Highway. The roads were narrow, steep, and at times seemed impossible to get through, but the wonders that played alongside the journey through Hana highway made the treacherous road worth it. While the highway itself was rough, the scenery along the way was truly worth it. We were able to see countless waterfalls and swimming holes to the unbelievable rainbow eucalyptus trees. I can say that the narrow roads and cliffs were well worth the journey.

Hi Aubryelle! I have always wanted to go to Hawaii and hope to be able to go someday! The picture you chose to depict Haiwaii is absolutely gorgeous! How often do you get to visit? You description of the place is so wonderful and vivid too that I can imagine it perfectly! That’s scary that you had to climb the mountains first before being able to see it though!
ReplyDeleteOh, those pictures are SO wonderful, Aubryelle! There was a eucalyptus grove on the Berkeley campus (where I went to school)... but not rainbow eucalyptus. Beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous place, Aubryelle! I have never been to Hawaii before, but it is at the top of my travel wish list for sure. When I read that you went in winter, I was confused for a split second because I was thinking about the cold winter that we experience here in Oklahoma! If only we had that nice weather!
ReplyDeleteMaui looks beautiful, Aubryelle! I have always wanted to visit Hawaii and now I think I need to especially after I read about the red sand beach you described. I bet the views of the red sand beach was worth the journey! Also, those trees look so beautiful but I bet they were more breathtaking in person! This place kind of reminds me of my home country of the Philippines. :)
